Six Questions Your Homewatch CareGivers Franchise Business Plan Must Answer

We developed this home care franchise business plan using our own industry research to give you a powerful head start. The Word document comes with all six chapters pre-populated with data specific to opening and operating a modern senior care agency, including revenue projections that reach $1,475,000 in the first year. Every word, number, and table is fully editable, so you can adapt this comprehensive template to your exact location and strategy.

1. What's the business case for this franchise unit?

The business case is to establish a premium in-home care agency targeting affluent seniors in a demographically strong market with a major medical center nearby. By offering a holistic, 'whole-person' care model, the unit differentiates itself from competitors focused solely on basic medical aid, creating a strong foundation for one of the most profitable home health care franchise opportunities.

Core Opportunity

  • Target high-net-worth seniors in exclusive, dense neighborhoods.
  • Leverage proximity to a major hospital for a steady stream of patient referrals.
  • Differentiate with a high-touch, transparent care model using proprietary technology.
[dynamic_pic9]

2. What services does the unit offer?

The unit offers a diversified mix of premium, private-pay services, led by In-Home Care Services projected to generate $700,000 in its first year. This core service is supplemented by specialized, higher-margin offerings, including Dementia Care, Chronic Management Services, and Long-Term Care Contracts, creating multiple, stable revenue streams.

Service Mix & Value

  • Provide 'whole-person' care that supports lifestyle, not just health needs.
  • Offer specialized programs for dementia and chronic condition management.
  • Use a proprietary tech platform for real-time, transparent family communication.
[dynamic_pic10]

3. Who are the target customers and what is the market?

The primary customers are aging professionals and seniors in affluent neighborhoods, along with their adult children who are often involved in care decisions. A key secondary segment includes patients being discharged from a nearby major medical center who require high-quality, post-acute care, tapping into powerful senior care industry trends.

Local Market Focus

  • Aging residents in high-income communities like McCormick Ranch and Gainey Ranch.
  • Family members of high-net-worth individuals seeking premium, reliable care.
  • Post-discharge patients from partner medical facilities needing transitional support.
[dynamic_pic11]

4. How will the unit acquire customers?

Customer acquisition is built on direct, high-trust relationships rather than broad advertising. The strategy is defintely relationship-driven, focusing on securing direct referrals from hospital discharge planners, partnering with local wealth managers, and hosting educational seminars at exclusive venues to build authority and attract ideal clients.

Customer Acquisition Channels

  • Build direct referral pipelines with local medical professionals and hospitals.
  • Form strategic partnerships with financial advisors and senior living consultants.
  • Host high-touch educational events at country clubs and community centers.
[dynamic_pic12]

5. Who runs the unit and what is the staffing plan?

The unit is managed by a full-time Unit Director with an annual salary of $95,000, supported by a core office team including an Office Manager and a Care Coordinator. The caregiver recruitment strategy is designed for growth, scaling the team of caregivers from 12 full-time equivalents (FTEs) in Year 1 to 28 FTEs by Year 5 to meet rising demand.

Key Roles & Staffing

  • A Unit Director provides dedicated, on-site leadership and operational oversight.
  • An office team manages administration, scheduling, and client relations.
  • Caregiver staffing is projected to scale in line with revenue growth.
[dynamic_pic13]

6. What are the key financial projections?

The financial plan requires a minimum cash injection of $986,000 to fund startup and initial operations. The model projects first-year revenue of $1,475,000 with a 5% royalty fee and a 2% marketing fee. Key performance indicators are strong, with a rapid 4-month breakeven and a projected five-year Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 13.82%.

Financial Highlights

  • Startup funding covers a $50,000 franchise fee and other initial capital expenses.
  • Revenue is forecast to grow from $1.475M in Year 1 to $3.285M by Year 5.
  • The unit is projected to reach breakeven by April 2026, just four months after launch.

I purchased a Kong Extreme Dog Toy at Tractor Supply and it lasted for several weeks with no signs of damage and then my dog lost it. So I went on the search for more Kong Extreme toys for powerful chewers on Amazon. I have a 60 lb. American Straffordshire Pit and he is a fierce chewer. Most chew toys can make it for a day with some damage but by day 2 the fun is over. For him because the toy is torn to bits and for me because I have to pick up the remnants. I have learned not to get him anything fuzzy - he will rip the fuzz off and I have learned not to get him anything with a squeaker because he will not stop chewing until he finds the squeaker and rip it out. He had the end of the Kong Extreme Goodie Bond Dog Toy off in less than 30 minutes and that was alternating between the Wubba toy for fetching and the bone for chewing, I can tell the Wubba isn't going to last anytime if I let him sit down and chew on it so I had to keep taking it away from him. He likes to catch but he doesn't like to fetch. When I took the bone out of the package I was more worried about the center as it seemed very flimsy and I had doubts it would make it but my dog concentrated on the holes on the ends (with no snacks in them) and when he laid down to chew on it, he was able to rip the end off in a matter of minutes, This is also listed as for power chewers. I have other Kong toys I have ordered for him because he loves to play and chew but I can hardly afford to pay $8 to $10 per toy for him to have half a hour of chewing fun. I went back to TSC for a Kong Extreme Dog Toy and I tried one of the classic Kongs. The classic had one end missing in less than an hour. A Pit Bull breeder said the only thing he has found his dogs can play with and not destroy are bowling balls. He keeps his dogs in kennels and in a barn and my dog is a house dog so since I don't live in a bowling alley I know that I would wind up wishing he would only chew it up instead of roll it into every piece of furniture or a wall. I had such high hopes for the Kong Extreme but it is said to have a dog get attached to a toy then have to take it away from him every ten to fifteen minutes because a power chew toy can't hold up to chewing. Off to find an alternative to Kong,,,,, one toy out of five holding up is not a good recommendation and very expensive to try to find something the dog can enjoy and not destroy.

KONG; consistently sturdy!
Color: bone, Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
This toy is small enough for my 11 pound puppy and he loves it. It's also sturdy enough (as KONG products always are) to withstand his terrier jaws and ability to destroy most toys in under 5 minutes. Keeps him busy for hours.
