First, My Happy Feet written in 2016, twenty-seven years after her diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. My Journey Continues, My Hope for the Future is the revised edition, including most recent developments in her fight with Parkinson's disease. The disease had begun to consume the author. There were too many pills, side effects from the meds, and physical and emotional changes. She felt as if she was losing the battle. With a determined spirit, and faith in God, Ruth Anne decided to take the next step in fighting the disease in the form of DBS, (Deep Brain Stimulation) surgery. Part three of this memoir goes into detail about her experiences. Ruth Anne writes to help inform other patients on strategies for dealing with this insidious disease, and finally what the outcome of this dramatic surgery was for her.
