This 12-foot module enables you to transmit keyboard, mouse, and video/audio signals over a single, reliable connection, simplifying rack management and saving valuable space in crowded data centers. Designed for performance-driven IT environments, this interface module integrates smoothly with your existing KVM infrastructure to deliver quick, secure, and scalable access to remote servers. Whether you’re performing routine maintenance, firmware updates, or on-site diagnostics, you’ll appreciate stable signal delivery, reduced cabling clutter, and streamlined operations that come with this compact interface solution. Built to withstand the rigors of busy data centers, it helps IT teams optimize workflow, accelerate incident response, and maintain uptime across the data center campus.

  • Single-cable connectivity: Transmit keyboard, mouse, VGA video, and audio signals over one rugged RJ-45 connection, reducing cable mess and simplifying rack layouts. This all-in-one interface minimizes the number of cables between administrators and servers, boosting efficiency and reliability in high-density environments.
  • 12-foot reach for flexible deployments: The generous cable length lets you position servers, KVM devices, PDUs, and management consoles where you need them, even in densely populated racks or remote equipment rooms, without sacrificing performance or signal integrity.
  • Plug-and-play with KVM ecosystems: Seamlessly integrates with Raritan KVM switches and compatible servers, enabling rapid deployment, straightforward troubleshooting, and dependable console access across your data center fleet. The module is designed to work within established management workflows, reducing setup time for new rack additions or migrations.
  • Durable, data-center-grade construction: Built to withstand the demands of busy data centers, with robust shielding and connector design that minimize EMI and signal loss, ensuring reliable console access over the long term. This reliability helps administrators maintain consistent control during critical maintenance windows and after-hours tasks.
  • Broad USB and video support: Supports standard USB peripherals and VGA-based video, enabling administrators to attach keyboards, mice, displays, diagnostic tools, and firmware update devices with ease. This versatility supports diverse admin workloads, from routine server checks to firmware flashing and system recovery.

How to install Raritan RJ-45/USB/VGA Server Interface Module

Installing the Raritan RJ-45/USB/VGA Server Interface Module is a straightforward process designed to minimize downtime and maximize console reliability. Follow these steps to ensure a clean, secure setup that delivers dependable access to your servers and networked devices.

  • Step 1 — Power down and prepare your equipment: Before wiring, shut down the host server and any connected devices in accordance with your data center procedures to avoid electrical risks or signal interference. Gather all necessary cables and confirm compatibility with your KVM switch model.
  • Step 2 — Connect the RJ-45 interface: Plug the RJ-45 connector from the 12-foot module into the corresponding port on your KVM switch or server management console. Ensure a snug fit and proper alignment to prevent intermittent connections during operation.
  • Step 3 — Attach USB and VGA connections: If your configuration requires USB keyboard/mouse and VGA video, connect the USB and VGA ends to the appropriate ports on the host equipment and the console side according to your vendor’s guidelines. Verify that the monitor and peripherals are recognized by the OS after initial boot.
  • Step 4 — Route and manage cables: Route cables neatly along rack rails, using cable ties or management channels to minimize strain and preserve signal integrity. Avoid sharp bends and ensure a comfortable slack radius to prevent accidental disconnections during maintenance or equipment moves.
  • Step 5 — Power up and verify: Restore power to servers and devices, then test console access using your KVM software to confirm reliable keyboard, mouse, and display connectivity through the module. Perform a quick firmware check and verify USB peripheral recognition to ensure full functionality.

Quick and easy process. Coffee maker died and I had the insurance. Refunded and only ended up paying the price of insurance. Would do it again!

Claim was easy, speedy, and Amazon gift card was applied almost immediately.
I had to make a claim for a Ninja blender that was emitting an odor of burning or melting wires. I called a service representative thinking I might encounter a problem and was surprised. The agent was helpful and made the entire process so easy I applaud her! The Amazon gift card was posted to my account almost immediately after UPS picked the product up. I have decided that for products with a large number of parts and electronics that can fail I will purchase Asurion protection.

Asurion "Assures" nothing!
Asurion has terrible Customer Support. All machine based. They give you no phone # for human interaction. Their online Support process is very close-ended. It is a checklist designed to frustrate purchasers whose issue lies outside only the very issue. My issue: I bought "Cuisinart TOB-40FR Custom Classic Toaster Oven Broiler, Silver (Renewed)" on May 26, 2024. It stated it had a 90 day warranty. So I bought an Asurion Protection Plan also to cover it for 3 years. The toaster started flaking off metal finish inside the oven over the cooking area. I tried to file a claim with Asurion and they told me the Manufacturers warranty was still in effect and I should contact Cuisinart. This despite the oven was sold with a Amazon Renewed verbiage stating a 90 day warranty. And they have nothing on their "Machine Checklist" to cover this eventuality. And I would assume I am not the only one who takes the "Renewed" route and backs it up with a "Protection Plan". They will frustrate you no end. I suspect, like many insurances, they seek to deny, deny, deny, in hopes the purchaser will give up.
