As do all Reverend guitars and basses, the Reeves Gabrels Signature Sustainiac MKII comprises only the finest tonewoods and components — materials you expect to find on boutique, custom-shop instruments costing considerably more. From its ultra-stable roasted maple neck and proprietary pickups to its genuine Wilkinson WVS50 IIK vibrato bridge, this guitar is designed from the ground up for high performance. Even the parts you don’t see are top drawer, such as premium 10% control pots, polyester capacitors, and a robust Pure Tone Technologies jack with a custom 4-screw jack plate. Reverend uses high-grade korina (white limba) — coveted for its consistency and harmonic richness — for their guitar and bass bodies. Korina is a highly resonant tonewood, a quality that axe-slingers say is only further enhanced by the instrument’s amazingly versatile electronics package, which features a powerful Railhammer Reeves Gabrels Signature bridge humbucker, a versatile S-Rail middle humbucker, and a custom Sustainiac system in the neck position.

Reeves Gabrels’ signature axe is spec’d by the man himself; so naturally, it features endless, controllable feedback and sustain capabilities, courtesy of a custom Sustainiac system. Reverend’s neck-position implementation of this popular pickup technology functions as a standard humbucker when the Sustainiac function is off. Switch it on, and the system is armed for immediate deployment of shrieking sonic mayhem — all under your full command. How does it work? The Sustainiac generates a magnetic pulse that drives your strings into sustain. It offers three modes: Fundamental Mode lets your note or chord ring out in perpetuity, while Harmonic Mode gradually and dramatically transmutes the sustained note into a higher harmonic. Mix Mode is a thrilling combination of both effects. However you use it, the Sustainiac system will add dimension and drama to your music.

Roasted maple neck for enhanced stability
Reverend Guitars uses a proprietary torrefaction (roasting) procedure on the maple neck of the Reeves Gabrels Signature Sustainiac MKII. Heat treating the neck at over 300°F, the process removes sugars, impurities, and almost all the moisture from the wood and collapses the cell walls, which dramatically increases stability, making your guitar much more impervious to humidity and climatic changes, while optimizing resonance, sustain, and overall tone. As roasting removes moisture, it also removes weight, so you can play marathon sets without next-day visits to your chiropractor. Roasting also imparts a rich caramel color for a warm vintage look. But if you ever do need to perform a neck adjustment, Reverend’s dual-action truss rod makes it fast and painless.
