Explore the iconic sandstone cliffs of West Virginia’s New River Gorge with She Moves Mountains this June.

Known for its soaring walls, miles of featured rock, and true “choose-your-own-adventure” climbing, the New River Gorge offers an unforgettable setting for both first-timers and seasoned climbers—whether you’re here to build confidence on moderates, refine movement and technique, or dig into steeper, more technical lines.

For this program, we’re partnering with Elaina Arenz and the team at New River Mountain Guides to bring you world-class instruction in one of the most storied climbing destinations in the U.S.

You can expect a supportive, skill-forward weekend that balances high-quality instruction with the kind of community She Moves Mountains is built on—so you leave not only having climbed a lot, but also understanding why things work, and feeling more capable the next time you tie in.

What to expect

To ensure everyone gets the most out of their New River Gorge experience, climbing days are divided into three general categories:

Intro — Perfect for first-time climbers (or indoor climbers going outside for the first time).
We’ll focus on foundations: movement basics, belay and lowering/rappelling skills (as appropriate), communication, and building confidence on real rock.

Intermediate — Ideal for climbers who have some experience and want to feel more solid outdoors.
Expect guided mileage plus coaching on technique, footwork, efficiency, and systems—designed to help you climb more smoothly and confidently across a wider range of routes.

Advanced — Excellent for experienced climbers who want a bigger challenge and more nuanced coaching.
We’ll prioritize higher-volume climbing, performance-focused feedback, and more technical objectives that match your experience—while keeping the environment supportive and well-managed.

Throughout the weekend, our guiding team will work with you to choose climbs that fit your goals, your experience, and the conditions—so you’re challenged appropriately and set up for success.

We can’t wait to bring the She Moves Mountains community to the New River Gorge for a June weekend of growth, climbing, and adventure.

Homer's Iliad, Books 1-12
Format: Hardcover
This is a wonderful adjunct to any text for anyone interested in Homeric Greek. It reads well in and of itself and seems to be highly accurate. Of course I recommend it.

Good standard pony
Format: Hardcover
I recommend this book for scholars who want to read the original Greek but don't want the burden of translating. I like the small size of the book that can be toted around to the doctor's and on an airplane. There are enough notes on difficult passages to make the casual reader aware of the specialist's debate.

what most people want in a loeb library book
Format: Hardcover
The language and translation are fine. I was hoping for an unabridged version with nothing left out. Not so, I am pretty sure there is more that has been expurgated. I might be wrong
